Activities
DAR Good Citizens Award
The DAR Good Citizens Award contest is open to all senior high school students in Lehigh County. Each school selects a member of the senior class as the one being the most qualified to be the school's Good Citizen based on DAR's four criteria of dependability, leadership, service, and patriotism. Each March, the chapter pays tribute to the winners from the participating high schools at a reception and presentation ceremony. Each of the winners is presented with a pin, certificate, wallet card, and a book dealing with some aspect of history. |
Gifts For Veterans
During the Christmas season, the Liberty Bell Chapter, NSDAR, gathers gifts for the local veterans at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Outpatient Clinic in Allentown. If you would like to brighten a veterans Christmas please contact the Liberty Bell Chapter, NSDAR, using the Contact Us form. |
Military Medals and Certificates
ROTC medals have been awarded by the NSDAR since 1967 because ROTC is such an important source of trained officers for our armed forces. The selection of the cadet for the award is made by the Junior ROTC High School Unit Commander. The selected cadet must be a leader of good character who is dependable and adheres to military discipline. The selected cadet must also understand the patriotic of ROTC training. One student from the Dieruff High School Air Force ROTC program and one from the William Allen High School Navy ROTC program who has shown these qualities was given the bronze ROTC medal at this ceremony. |
